Women motorcycle club Wings
The first in Russia Women motorcycle club Wings has been organized in 1999 by two enthusiasts of a motorcycle and uncommon young women – Mary Mukhina and Ann Kissil. As usual, there was this remarkable case happened due to unpleasant incident: Ann would be nearly died in bike crash occurred through the fault of a driver.
She was conveyed to Botkin hospital with many serious injuries and from the hospital the information that unknown girl needs help reached Mary. So in this hospital where Mary rushed with not a shadow of doubt to assist she did not know girl the meeting of founders of Wings took place, as well as the idea sprung up to create an association of girls on bikes for the purpose to communicate and to assist the club members or anybody else whom needs help.
The year 1999 could be considered as the year of creation of Women motorcycle club Wings and the period of time from the emergence of idea up to its implementation was very short.
In February 2000, at First gathering of Wings has been in Maloyaroslavets-city for taking parts in motorcycle rally, arranged by “Moto” magazine, there the club was officially introduced with great ovation to the motorcycle community.
In this way the club has begun his activity. Depending on available opportunities the club members were seeking to be sufficiently active in motorcycle life demonstrating solidarity and unity.
In February 2001 the club has organized and hold his presentation party at “Logovo” night club, gathering around 1000 guests from different cities and motorcycle communities. This party became the first official event, which presented women motorcycle club and activity in Russia.
During 2001 and 2002 the club Wings carried out lot of parties and took part in Werwolf festival in Saint-Petersburg.
Since 2003 the club pays great attention to the charity, helping orphans in children’s homes, and homeless pets.
In 2009 the room of psychological relief and the Fund for women in painful situations were organized at the support and immediate assistance of Wings club members.
Setting new plans for 2011, Wings members expects to assist in several international actions, to carry out the parties for women riders and to enlist in the ranks of adherents these women riders who has interest for club style life and mutual supports and helps, and together rides as well.
